Award:
Renewable scholarship for full-time study at any accredited four-year college or university, along with a paid summer internship.

Eligibility:
Applicants for the 2010 Paul Mirabella Diversity Scholarship:

• Must be African American, Hispanic American, or American Indian.
• Must be a high school senior currently attending a public or private high school in the Milwaukee, Waukesha, or Madison (Wisconsin) area.
• Must be planning to enroll in a full-time* undergraduate course of study at an accredited four-year college or university, majoring in engineering, finance, or information technology.
• Must have (and maintain throughout the program) a 3.0 or better grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
• Must arrange for the completion of an online appraisal from a third party (e.g., teacher, guidance counselor, coach, etc.).

*Full-time study is defined as full-time enrollment for the entire 2010-11 academic year.

How to Apply:
Any eligible student may register and begin the application process. The online application will be available on October 15, 2009, at www.act.org/gehealthcarediversity.

Students must complete the online application (including a current, complete transcript of grades) by 5:00 p.m. Central time on March 30, 2010.

An online applicant appraisal is required for the Paul Mirabella Diversity Scholarship applicants. The applicant’s appraisal must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. Central time on April 1, 2010.

SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Paul Mirabella Diversity Scholarship applicants must demonstrate financial need to receive an award.

Selection of recipients is made by the GE Healthcare Selection Committee. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. All applicants will be notified in early May 2010. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS
GE Healthcare will arrange for summer internships for all scholarship recipients of the Paul Mirabella Diversity Scholarship who maintain at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Future years’ internship offers depend on successful performance of previous internship(s) and attainment of minimum 3.0 GPA.
