Eligibility:

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. So apply today if you are:

• Enrolled full time as a high school senior
• Intend to pursue a bachelor's degrees (student can start at a 2 year with the intention of going to a 4 year)
• Have critical financial need ($50,000 or less adjusted gross income per family is preferred, if higher explanation must be provided
• Be involved in co-curricular and community activities
• Have a minimum GPA of 2.0
• Be a US citizen

How to Apply:
Complete application and submit on line at: www.horatioalger.com/scholarships. Students must also submit one letter of support. The letter should be from an adult who understands your adversity and can describe the unique circumstances in your life. This form must be filled out online. Also, download the certification page and obtain the proper signatures and mail along with your transcript/legend and a photo copy of the front page of their parent/guardian's federal tax return for 2007 ( If your parents AGI is a negative number submit a tax return for the years of 2005, 2006 and 2007OR if they were not required to file a tax return, include statement copies of any government benefits, such as food stamps or Public Assistance documents.
